Monkey II hails from Rotterdam (The Netherlands), and is a graduate of the Academy of Art and Design at St. Joost.
He always equips himself with the tools of his trade (“Adobe CS2, mobile phone camera, Copic markers, a paperclip, spraycans and my trusty sidekick - a standard BIC blue ballpoint”), just in case he has a burst of illustration inspiration (and he often does).
A self-confessed “graphic-novel freak and movie geek”, he is also a huge football fan: “FC Barcelona is my current favo team - Ronaldinho is a legend.”
When he’s not designing, Monkey II likes to let his hair down: “You can find me clubbin’ with my entourage or you can catch me playing cheesy songs on my cheap guitar. “
